hiya! long time no see! so this is like a test post goin on here to test the whole thingamabob that i wanted to set up on here. i couldve done it on dreamwidth ya but i think doing a blog on here would allow me to make each blog post its own thing design wise, which would be cool. and itll force me to use the website more and not leave it to rot for several months.... but ya. i dont really have any social media that i use to express myself anymore after cohost died and mastodon being mastodon (sucking major ass and not in the good way). the only real social media ive been using is xiaohongshu (and not even to post anything yet lmao). so this will be my little containment zone, my little hermits mountain for all the silly (and non silly) shit i have to say
ive been busy with a lot of things lately (volunteering and taking tests for a certification) so i havent had much time to do more important things (studying spanish and marxism and this website). but soon when this month is done i will have more free time and energy to attend to this website consistently. thats my goal for 2025 at least. but because of all that i havent gotten anywhere really with designing the new layout for the index page, but thatll be priority after i pass my test. once thats all setup i can begin making things look a lot nicer. i finally setup the neocities cli thing on my computer so its a bit more easier to edit my shit without having to access my poor browser with all of my tabs (at least its way less tabs than it used to be). so this will allow me to play with this website a lot more
in addition to the index page i also wanna redo the design of the past directory page, i have more shit to put on there so i need to think of ways to make it look nicer. its difficult to do that though since i dont really want to use javascript at all for this site, or at least use it as less as possible. after thats done id probably try to apply that to the writings page too, though thats lower in priority. i have been making writings but because theyre. nsfw. idk if ill post it on here or ever lmao. i feel like id have to make a whole other subsection of the site for that
anyways, ill maybe make more blog posts before the end of this month but no promises lmao. well see how it goes. idk if this will replace the news page (it probs will) but therell probs be a small news box on the index page when its setup. see ya
p.s. use the details tag. so many people use javascript to make collapsing boxes of text but its literally already in html. its the details and summary tag. use it. im using it for the blog page. use it. use it. stop using javascript for things already massively supported amongst modern browsers in html and css
